It seems like forever since the last time I’ve been birding. The unhealthy heat wave that has settled over a major portion of the country has kept most people indoors, especially yours truly. Even with a couple of power outages we’ve been able to persevere through the worst of it.
With a cooler forecast starting next week I’ve been itching to get out and brush off some of this summer-time cabin fever. Believe it or not wading birds are beginning to show up, which marks the start of Fall migration. Wading birds in large numbers are being sighted in the Northern part of the state, so it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing them show up in better numbers.
So stay tuned and hopefully I’ll be able to get a couple of times in the next week.
