Warbler Madness

With Spring migration in full swing in the Ohio valley, I wanted to take a look back a week or so and count up all the various species of Warblers sighted by area birders. Granted living in the southern portion of the state we might see certain species well before others up North, so as I reviewed sight postings from Cincinnatibirds.com I was surprised at how many different warbler species were spotted. So the list I’m going to share with you was compiled starting with April 25th.

  1. Blackpoll Warbler
  2. Pine Warbler
  3. Palm Warbler
  4. Prothonotary Warbler
  5. Common Yellowthroat
  6. Yellow-throated Warbler
  7. Worm-eating Warbler
  8. Hooded Warbler
  9. Kentucky Warbler
  10. Nashville Warbler
  11. Yellow Warbler
  12. Northern Parula
  13. Black-throated Green Warbler
  14. Cerulean Warbler
  15. American Redstart
  16. Blackburnian Warbler
  17. Black & White warbler
  18. Blue-winged Warbler
  19. Louisiana Waterthrush
  20. Golden-winged Warbler
  21. Orange-crowned Warbler
  22. Bay-breasted Warbler
  23. Black-throated Blue Warbler
  24. Prairie Warbler
  25. Ovenbird
  26. Magnolia Warbler
  27. Tennessee Warbler

It truly is a great time to be a birder!
